Hell charge notes
Assisted easy mode

EXPERT COURSE -SECRET-
The following songs are unlockable throughout the SECRET courses in EXPERT mode. To unlock the song, you have to clear the course and fill a gauge by playing the respective course for a certain amount of times. Getting a FULL COMBO or EX HARD clear (VIP Pass required) in the whole course fully fills the gauge; getting a HARD CLEAR (VIP Pass required) increases the gauge by 75%; clearing the course increases the gauge by 50%; failing the course will give varying amounts depending on how many songs were played (25% for reaching the 4th song, and cutting in half for each song less). Use of ASSIST options is allowed but the gauge will be filled much less per play.
*At some unknown point in time, the requirement to clear the course to unlock the song from it was removed.
Course clearing and gauge filling must be done for each difficulty, if you want to unlock all the new song's charts. Progress between Single Player and Double Player modes is shared. A Bronze Tran Medal is awarded for each difficulty that is unlocked (for the songs from beatmania IIDX 22 PENDUAL, if any were already unlocked, those medals will be awarded after the first play in any EXPERT Course).

Season Line
Official event page.
Season Line is beatmania IIDX 23 copula's EXTRA STAGE system. For Japanese version machines, this only appears on premium start (requires PASELI).
Unlike the secret EXTRA STAGE systems from the few previous games, Season Line has been formally announced and has its own website's event page. The other major difference is that difficulties are unlocked from the easiest to the hardest, and not the other way around.
As the event page describes, the event is about playing songs related to each one of the four seasons.
The conditions to access Season Line change on the phase it is in. Note that a FULL COMBO will fulfill the requirements regardless of the gauge used on the song. EXPAND-JUDGE cannot be used.
When a Season Line song is unlocked, the system BGM and the song menu's background video change. The song selection sound depends on the chosen Season Line song.
UPDATE (EXTRA BOSS): From September 15th, 2016, it is possible to unlock all Season Line songs' charts by at least clearing them once. EASY/ASSIST options cannot be used and everything must be done with one player.
Clearing a Season Line song's chart nets you a "riding icon", plus a Silver Tran Medal (18 in total to be obtained).
Once the riding icons for all six Season Line songs are obtained on a specific difficulty, you will be able to play a new song on ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE (NZM) on that specific difficulty.
NZM as OMES has rules regarding the groove gauge:
* On first try, EX-HARD is forced on and you can't recover gauge.
* On second try, EX-HARD is forced on and you can recover gauge.
* From third try onward, HARD is simply forced on.
If you fail to clear NZM, you'll have obtain once again all the riding icons from the Season Line songs. Otherwise, you'll instantly unlock the OMES chart you have played in regular modes, alongside a Gold Tran Medal (3 in total to be obtained).
* Phase 1:
** NORMAL difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 18 or more in difficulty by clearing them with the EX-HARD gauge.
** HYPER and ANOTHER charts are not available.
* Phase 2:
** NORMAL difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 15 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the HARD gauge.
** HYPER difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 27 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the EX-HARD gauge.
** ANOTHER chart is not available.
* Phase 3:
** NORMAL difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 12 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the HARD gauge.
** HYPER difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 24 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the HARD gauge.
** ANOTHER difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 33 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the EX-HARD gauge.
* Phase 4:
** NORMAL difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 12 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the HARD gauge.
** HYPER difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 21 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the HARD gauge.
** ANOTHER difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 30 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the HARD gauge.
* Phase 5:
** ANOTHER difficulty: Obtain at least a AA rank on three songs that total 27 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the HARD gauge.
* Phase 6:
** NORMAL difficulty: Obtain at least a A rank on three songs that total 12 or more in difficulty, by clearing them with the HARD gauge.

Official Phase 2 event page.
The Kaitsuu! Tokotoko line (開通!とことこライン) event is the first unlock system of beatmania IIDX 23 copula, introduced on November 26th, 2015. The objective is to build a railway throughout a set of areas. The event screen, as always, appears at the end of every play session, however its effects begin immediately from the first played credit. Lastly, the event appears in every mode.
The second phase of the event begun on December 22nd, 2015. It requires Phase 1 to be completed first.
The Kaitsuu! Tokotoko line event ended on April 24th, 2016.
Material points are obtained after playing a song, regardless if it was cleared or not. The amount of material points (without tools) obtained per song depends on the chosen mode:<br>
* STANDARD / Dani nintei / EXPERT / HAZARD: 25 material points per song.
* STEP UP: 33 material points per song.
* FREE / FREE PLUS: 50 material points per song.
* PREMIUM FREE: 25 material points per song (from the sixth song onward you only get 1 material point per song play).
In STANDARD mode you'll ultimately earn less material points per play session if you have no access to EXTRA STAGE, remember.
You get a special tool if you clear one song from each style respectively (except substream), other than gaining a Bronze Tran Medal. Getting all 23 tools will net you a permanent 1.5x material gaining bonus. This is recommended to do as early as possible to maximize material gain.
From December 22nd, 2015, you can get new special tools by fulfilling the following requirements, regardless of difficulty chart:
* Clear a Season Line song.
* Clear three songs with charts containing HELL CHARGE NOTES in a single credit.
* Clear three songs with a base BPM equal or higher than 250 in a single credit.
* Clear three songs in your Favorite folder in a single credit.
* Clear the current WEEKLY RANKING song.
Tokotoko line leaders, chosen throughout a card shuffle, increase material gaining as well. In order, from the better leader to the worst:<br>
Ripika/Phoenix (40% boost) > Lupica/Rche (20% boost) > Repika/Bafaru (15% boost) > Mamonis/Vega (5% boost).<br>
With Rainbow Tickets you can add additional leaders. The cost is 2 tickets to add one leader, and a total of 5 tickets to use all four of the available leaders.
You can choose three players from the event's website page for gaining additional material points in the event. Note that this doesn't decrease material earning for these other players.
The formula for the total amount of material points gained per play is:<br>
Material points earned by song plays x tool bonus + leader bonus + players' shared materials.<br>
VIP PASS BLACK lets you earn more material points.
All the obtained material points will be used in the event section to build the railway. Once the development of the railway is done in an area, you rank up, you get a Bronze Tran Medal and you can choose which one of the following four songs to unlock:
* Central Station / Recycle
* Rock It / Hommarju
* Violet Rose / OSTER project
* 量子の海のリントヴルム / 黒猫ダンジョン
On Phase 2, you can choose which one of the following three songs to unlock:
* chaos eater -IIDX edition- / 猫叉Master+

A song's preview will play if you hover over the song. Note that in this event, when you unlock a song, all of its charts are unlocked as well.
Areas where the railway has been already built can be re-visited. There you can fill "regional happiness" gauges by building intermediate stations.<br>
Building intermediate stations in each area give you 500 pular.<br>
Fully filling the gauges net you pular or unlocks, depending on the area:
* AREA 1:
** Starting area.
** One intermediate station.
** 500 pular for building the intermediate station.
* AREA 2:
** Clear AREA 1 to access.
** Two intermediate stations.
** 500 pular for building each intermediate station.
* AREA 3:
** Clear AREA 1 to access.
** Three intermediate stations.
** 500 pular for building each one of the first two intermediate station.
** Building the third intermediate station nets you 炸裂!イェーガー電光チョップ!! (JAEGER FINAL ATTACK) / L.E.D. (CS Song)
* AREA 4:
** Clear AREA 1 to 3 to access.
** Three intermediate stations.
** 500 pular for building each one of the first two intermediate station.
** Building the third intermediate station nets you GOBBLE / Kimitaka Matsumae (CS Song)
* AREA 5:
** Clear AREA 1 to 3 to access.
** Three intermediate stations.
** 500 pular for building each one of the first two intermediate station.

Mystery Line
Official event page.
The Mystery Line is the second unlock system of beatmania IIDX 23 copula, introduced on April 27th, 2016.<br>
Phase 2 of the event started on May 26th, 2016.<br>
Phase 3 of the event started on July 21st, 2016.
On EXTRA STAGE, a MYSTERY LINE folder will appear above the LEVEL folders. If playing on a Japanese machine using Standard start (in coin mode or PASELI), the folder will appear on FINAL STAGE instead. The first time this event appears, the game will default to the MYSTERY LINE folder (afterwards it will be in the place it would normally be after playing a song). Note that once the folder is entered, it will not be possible to switch between SP and DP modes.
There are two lists inside the folder, MYSTERY LINE and MYSTERY EXPLORE. Only one can be accessed at a time. If MYSTERY LINE will be the destination, EVENT TRAIN APPROACHING will appear on the screen when the MYSTERY LINE folder appears. A location will be randomly selected out of four possibilities (fewer if one or more of the existing locations has been fully unlocked), if a different one is desired, three Rainbow Tickets can be used to change it. A prompt will appear to select which chart on the upcoming song to unlock, and all three charts of the song will be available for play. It is not necessary to play the same chart as was chosen to unlock (ie, you can play the HYPER chart even if you chose to unlock the NORMAL chart). The result does not matter either. Three stars are displayed when in this folder, they will transfer to MYSTERY EXPLORE.
MYSTERY EXPLORE will draw a random list of charts (similar to STEP UP mode and the Chrono Chaser folder of beatmania IIDX 22 PENDUAL, but covering the entire difficulty range from 1-12). Playing songs from here will fill the pie chart to unlock the song. A star will be deducted for each song played here. The amount that is filled in is based on the difficulty level and the clear type obtained. The pie chart takes more effort to fill for the higher levels (with ANOTHER taking the longest), based on the area being explored (NORMAL is flat plains area, HYPER is mountain wilderness, and ANOTHER is a completely unknown area). If the pie chart is filled completely, the selected chart of the song will be unlocked for normal play. If all of the stars run out before filling the pie chart, the train will move to a new location on the next credit.
There are some secret areas that require additional conditions. If these conditions are met when a new location is due to be selected, the secret location will be chosen instead of a random normal one.
* Tori-no-kimochi: Play two songs from the EMPRESS folder.
* NO LIMIT -オレ達に限界は無い-: Unlock at least one chart from Tori-no-kimochi, then play two other songs by SUPER STAR 満-MITSURU-.
* 1T B0UNC3: Unlock one or more charts for all of the normal Mystery Line songs, then play two of them.
* SOMETHING WONDERFUL: Play two songs with train videos.
* POSSESSION: Unlock at least one chart from SOMETHING WONDERFUL, then play two other songs by TAG.
* OUTER LIMITS ALTERNATIVE: Play two songs with "Remix" in their titles or artist names (songs with just MIX don't count).
* X: Unlock all Mystery Line charts on the same difficulty you want to unlock a specific X's difficulty chart. Then play two Mystery Line songs.
The 終着の地 destination comes with its own menu background and BGM.
Other information:
* Failing a song will cause it to not count toward gaining the secret area.
* For Tori-no-kimochi and NO LIMIT -オレ達に限界は無い-, if conditions for both are satisfied at the same time, Tori-no-kimochi will take priority.
* For songs with prerequisites, the location selection will be limited to charts already unlocked on the prerequisite songs. For M4K3 1T B0UNC3, location selection is limited to a location that has been unlocked on all of the songs (i.e., if 6 of the 7 songs have the HYPER chart unlocked, but one doesn't, HYPER won't be selectable for the location).
* In all applicable cases, playing the song in question will not satisfy the conditions.
* In Premium Start mode or on non-Japanese machines, only the first two songs count toward the secret area conditions. The FINAL STAGE song does not influence the results.
You obtain a Bronze Tran Medal if you unlock one chart and a Silver Tran Medal for each three unlocked charts. The event strangely has no kind of ending message/warning, and no Gold/Platinum Tran Medal to be obtained (the first time it ever happens for a regular event since the introduction of medals in beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro).

PULACO ticket unlocks
PULACO tickets were added on February 3rd, 2016 to provide access to songs from beatmania IIDX 22 PENDUAL that were not automatically unlocked. PULACO tickets can be purchased with Pular, and require the basic course subscription.
To see the complete list of purchasable charts/songs, please see this page.
(Today's Featured Songs)
Every day, on all copula machines, three songs are marked as "featured". You can see which ones are marked in the Data Entry window or in the songwheel menu. Playing all three of them in a day will grant you 300 bonus Pular.
For the list of featured songs, please check the beatmania IIDX 23 copula Today's Featured Songs List page.
WEEKLY RANKING
The WEEKLY RANKING feature in beatmania IIDX 23 copula began on December 2nd, 2015. Weekly Ranking sessions last for a week, with Wednesday at 12:00 pm being the beginning and as well as the deadline in the successive week. Locked songs that appear as WEEKLY RANKING songs are available by default during that period.

  • At some unknown point in time, the requirement to clear the course to unlock the song from it was removed.

  • On first try, EX-HARD is forced on and you can't recover gauge.

Kaitsuu!

Official Phase 1 event page.

The amount of material points (without tools) obtained per song depends on the chosen mode:

  • STANDARD / Dani nintei / EXPERT / HAZARD: 25 material points per song.
  • STEP UP: 33 material points per song.
  • FREE / FREE PLUS: 50 material points per song.
  • PREMIUM FREE: 25 material points per song (from the sixth song onward you only get 1 material point per song play).

  • Clear a Season Line song.
  • Clear three songs with charts containing HELL CHARGE NOTES in a single credit.
  • Clear three songs with a base BPM equal or higher than 250 in a single credit.
  • Clear three songs in your Favorite folder in a single credit.
  • Clear the current WEEKLY RANKING song.

Tokotoko line leaders, chosen throughout a card shuffle, increase material gaining as well. In order, from the better leader to the worst:
Ripika/Phoenix (40% boost) > Lupica/Rche (20% boost) > Repika/Bafaru (15% boost) > Mamonis/Vega (5% boost).

The formula for the total amount of material points gained per play is:
Material points earned by song plays x tool bonus + leader bonus + players' shared materials.
VIP PASS BLACK lets you earn more material points.

All the obtained material points will be used in the event section to build the railway. Once the development of the railway is done in an area, you rank up, you get a Bronze Tran Medal and you can choose which one of the following four songs to unlock:

On Phase 2, you can choose which one of the following three songs to unlock:

A song's preview will play if you hover over the song. Note that in this event, when you unlock a song, all of its charts are unlocked as well.

Areas where the railway has been already built can be re-visited. There you can fill "regional happiness" gauges by building intermediate stations.
Building intermediate stations in each area give you 500 pular.
Fully filling the gauges net you pular or unlocks, depending on the area:

  • AREA 1:
    • Starting area.
    • One intermediate station.
    • 500 pular for building the intermediate station.
  • AREA 2:
    • Clear AREA 1 to access.
    • Two intermediate stations.
    • 500 pular for building each intermediate station.
  • AREA 3:
  • AREA 4:
    • Clear AREA 1 to 3 to access.
    • Three intermediate stations.
    • 500 pular for building each one of the first two intermediate station.
    • Building the third intermediate station nets you GOBBLE / Kimitaka Matsumae (CS Song)
  • AREA 5:
    • Clear AREA 1 to 3 to access.
    • Three intermediate stations.
    • 500 pular for building each one of the first two intermediate station.
    • Building the third intermediate station nets you 夕焼け ~Fading Day~ / JAKAZiD (Revival)
  • ALL AREAS:

When you're completely done with an area, you cannot access it anymore.

Ending the first phase of the event nets you a Silver Tran Medal.

For Phase 2, instead, you'll build facilities in the same five areas:

  • AREA 1:
    • One facility.
    • 1000 pular for building the facility (awarded as two sets of 500 pular).
  • AREA 2:
    • Two facilities.
    • 500 pular for building each of the facilities.
    • Building the second facility nets you Welcome / Uraken (CS Song)
  • AREA 3:
  • AREA 4:
    • Three facilities.
    • 500 pular for building each one of the facilities.
    • Building the third facility nets you Konzert V / Remo-con vs. dj TAKA (New Song)
  • AREA 5:
    • Three facilities.
    • 500 pular for building each of the facilities.
    • Building the third facility nets you SWEETEST SAVAGE / ASLETICS (Revival)
  • ALL AREAS:

Ending the second phase of the event nets you a Platinum Tran Medal.

Mystery Line

Official event page.

The Mystery Line is the second unlock system of beatmania IIDX 23 copula, introduced on April 27th, 2016.
Phase 2 of the event started on May 26th, 2016.

  • Tori-no-kimochi: Play two songs from the EMPRESS folder.
  • NO LIMIT -オレ達に限界は無い-: Unlock at least one chart from Tori-no-kimochi, then play two other songs by SUPER STAR 満-MITSURU-.
  • M4K3 1T B0UNC3: Unlock one or more charts for all of the normal Mystery Line songs, then play two of them.
  • SOMETHING WONDERFUL: Play two songs with train videos.
  • POSSESSION: Unlock at least one chart from SOMETHING WONDERFUL, then play two other songs by TAG.
  • OUTER LIMITS ALTERNATIVE: Play two songs with "Remix" in their titles or artist names (songs with just MIX don't count).
  • X: Unlock all Mystery Line charts on the same difficulty you want to unlock a specific X's difficulty chart. Then play two Mystery Line songs.

The 終着の地 destination comes with its own menu background and BGM.

Other information:

  • Failing a song will cause it to not count toward gaining the secret area.
  • For Tori-no-kimochi and NO LIMIT -オレ達に限界は無い-, if conditions for both are satisfied at the same time, Tori-no-kimochi will take priority.
  • For songs with prerequisites, the location selection will be limited to charts already unlocked on the prerequisite songs. For M4K3 1T B0UNC3, location selection is limited to a location that has been unlocked on all of the songs (i.e., if 6 of the 7 songs have the HYPER chart unlocked, but one doesn't, HYPER won't be selectable for the location).
  • In all applicable cases, playing the song in question will not satisfy the conditions.
  • In Premium Start mode or on non-Japanese machines, only the first two songs count toward the secret area conditions.
