概况 / 变更点

  • 本作是DDR主线作品中第一作稼动初始没有收录任何版权曲的。
  • 本作是DanceDanceRevolution系列支持CRT显示器机台的最后一作。
  • Single and Double can now be switched on the same credit during song selection by pressing [3] on the numeric keypad, similar to beatmania IIDX since SPADA.
    • Play style is now indicated on the MUSIC SELECT and TOTAL RESULT screens due to this.
    • However, switching between Single and Double cannot be done once the song has been confirmed for selection.

  • The ability to pay PREMIUM with coins has been added for Japanese machines [1]. This setting is only in effect if the machine does not accept PASELI.
  • EXTRA STAGE system carried over from DanceDanceRevolution A20 PLUS; please see its page for more details.
    • Dan courses are added on May 19th, 2022, coinciding with the launch of GOLDEN LEAGUE A3.
  • All previously released, non-GOLDEN LEAGUE content from A20/A20 PLUS and before was made available by default at launch, with the following exceptions:
  • All of the licenses exclusive to the 20th anniversary model cabinets of A20 are still exclusive.
  • Folder and difficulty clear lamps now appear as bright circular spotlights, instead of glowing tube lights.
  • All local, area, and world record scores (via e-amusement data) have been reset.
    • Player's personal best scores and clear lamps are kept when transferring play data from A20 PLUS to A3, as are all player options.
  • As of March 24th, 2022, FAST/SLOW and judgement placement adjustments in the SETTING page of the A3 website no longer require the basic e-amusement subscription [2].
  • PLAY DATA, RIVAL, and SETTING can now be viewed on your e-amusement account from April 4th, 2022.
    • The recent CLASS obtained in GOLDEN LEAGUE as of the end of the A20 PLUS also carry over.
  • BGM from previous DanceDanceRevolution games plays during BREAK TIME while playing Dan courses, though the music is selected at random.
  • A display timing adjustment option was added on March 13th, 2023. It can be set anywhere from -5.0 to +5.0 in 0.1 increments.
  • The system background music is composed by Sota Fujimori.
  • BPL BATTLE mode was added on July 11th, 2023 (originally July 6th, 2023) [3]. It allows local matching between two 20th anniversary cabinets, and is based on the competition rules of the BEMANI PRO LEAGUE event.
  • In North America, conversion kits to the TDX version began appearing at ROUND1 USA locations on August 14th, 2023.
    • This marks the first time a conversion kit has been issued for a live BEMANI arcade title. In this instance, it is switching from an "upfront" purchase model (MDX) to a "revenue share" purchase model (TDX).
    • This TDX kit is unavailable at Dave & Buster's, which continues to operate DanceDanceRevolution A20 PLUS. As a result, A3 remains unavailable in Canada and several states.
  • As of September 11th, 2023, on cabinets in the United States, selecting Normal Play will allow benefits previously only available on Premium Play. This includes the ability to select courses, access EXTRA STAGE, and having the same expanded set of in-game options.
    • Guaranteed access to final stage (regardless of failing) is still Premium Play exclusive.
  • As of mid-2023, all stages received graphical downgrades across all versions.
  • The GALAXY START feature was from November 1st, 2023, which is identical to Premium Play other than the following differences:
    • FLARE has been added as an option in LIFE GAUGE, which prevents recovery for step ratings below PERFECTs (identical to pre-SuperNOVA's EXTRA STAGE system). It is applicable on GALAXY STAGE during the BABY-LON GALAXY event.
    • The player is guaranteed four stages, including EXTRA STAGE and GALAXY STAGE.
    • Playing once a song from EXTRA SAVIOR A3 or COURSE TRIAL A3 will immediately unlock the song in question, regardless of the results.
  • eAMUSEMENT support for DanceDanceRevolution A3 on CRT-based cabinets ended on April 30th, 2024.
  • As of April 30th, 2024, offline kits for DanceDanceRevolution A3 have been made available to arcade owners.
    • The machines with an offline kit are denoted with game version "MDX:J:B:A:2024042451", as opposed to "MDX:J:A:A:2024******" for non-offline kit installed machines.
    • This is the first DanceDanceRevolution release since DanceDanceRevolution X3 VS 2ndMIX to offer offline kits in Asia.
    • Offline kits can only be installed on CRT-based cabinets.
  • With 52 original songs made exclusively for the game, DanceDanceRevolution A3 currently holds the record for the most arcade original songs of any arcade DanceDanceRevolution title.
  • Last game in the A series.

EXTRA STAGE

The Result Star system introduced in DanceDanceRevolution X3 vs 2ndMIX is used in A3, and is only available on Premium Play. When nine Result Stars are obtained, and FINAL STAGE is cleared, EXTRA STAGE will be played. Both players' stars are combined, and progress carries over to the next round if EXTRA STAGE was not reached. Each player can earn a maximum of three stars per song. During EXTRA STAGE, the LIFE GAUGE modifier is restricted to LIFE4.

EXTRA SAVIOR A3

The EXTRA SAVIOR A3 song folder, based on the EXTRA SAVIOR PLUS unlocking mechanic scheme from DanceDanceRevolution A20 PLUS, returned on July 21st, 2022 for 20th anniversary model cabinets, and July 25th, 2022 for regular cabinets. Please see its A20 PLUS page for more details.

Due to the introduction of switching play styles, both gauges for the respective play styles (blue for Single, pink for Double) are now displayed together, and playing the selected play style will fill the respective gauge more than the other gauge. As usual, charts are always unlocked in order from BEGINNER/BASIC, DIFFICULT, EXPERT, and CHALLENGE. New to EXTRA SAVIOR A3 is the ability to unlock CHALLENGE charts (if the song contains one), which require three stage clears or equivalent progress from failed attempts.

Any songs can be unlocked in any order with the exception of 恋愛観測 -2021真夏のエンディング ver.-, which is automatically unlocked after all other BEMANI 2021真夏の歌合戦5番勝負 songs have had all of their SP and DP charts unlocked. However, the four songs in the BEMANI 2021真夏の歌合戦5番勝負 folder will only appear if the six previous unlockable songs featured during the actual event are fully unlocked. If a player did not unlock them during the event, they will appear in the EXTRA SAVIOR folder instead.

Similarly, the いちかのごちゃまぜMix UP！ phase 2 songs are available once all phase 1 songs are fully unlocked, and the phase 3 charts (VOLAQUAS' CHALLENGE charts) are available to unlock after all other event songs have been unlocked.

For The KONAMI Arcade Championship (2023) songs, the required amount of points to unlock each chart has been doubled (Single/Double BASIC are now 1,000,000 points, Single/Double DIFFICULT are now 2,000,000 points, and Single/Double EXPERT are now 4,000,000 points). The 100,000 bonus points per play of the unlockable song are still given.

GOLDEN LEAGUE A3

GOLDEN LEAGUE A3 started on May 19th, 2022, for 20th anniversary model cabinets only. Please see the A20 page for more information.

New to GOLDEN LEAGUE A3 is the introduction of a scoring system, LEAGUE SCORE, which is determined by the combination of both EX Score and normal scoring (divided by 1000 and rounded down to the last integer; quadrupled when played on NONSTOP or Class courses). A fourth cutoff border, Advanced Border, is added, whereas if their total LEAGUE SCORE is achieved during the period, the players will receive rewards, with SILVER CLASS or better being eligible for the bonus: GOLD CLASS members will unlock the newest song instantly which can be played even before the Period ends, while players with SILVER CLASS able to access GOLD CLASS exclusive songs once the period ends.

Rewards are given at the end of each Period. At the end of each period, a song from A20 PLUS or A3's GOLDEN LEAGUE is rotated out from BRONZE CLASS and made available by default to all players, regardless of cabinet model. The latest GOLDEN LEAGUE song will first appear in GOLD CLASS before being relegated to SILVER CLASS after two periods, followed by BRONZE CLASS after four periods, after which it is finally unlocked by default four periods later.

Unless otherwise stated, this event is exclusive to 20th anniversary model cabinets. If the player has an active GOLDEN LEAGUE class (BRONZE, SILVER, or GOLD), they are able to play BRONZE CLASS songs on non-20th anniversary model cabinets (but not in GRAND PRIX) regardless of level. For ANNIVERSARY LEAGUE (indicated below as AL), this event can be accessed on regular cabinets, while GOLD and SILVER CLASS songs can now be played as well, providing that the player has the corresponding class to play it (Class mode remains exclusive to 20th anniversary model cabinets, however). The GOLD and SILVER songs will return to being exclusive on November 1st, 2023, when the 14th Period ends.

Older GOLDEN LEAGUE songs previously rotated out of the BRONZE CLASS are given new CHALLENGE charts, usually announced a week before the current period ends. These charts are initially exclusive for 20th anniversary models (and for the 1st Period only, to GOLD CLASS members), but are made available by default for all players before the start of the following period.

BABY-LON'S GALAXY

The BABY-LON'S GALAXY unlocking event began on November 1st, 2023. e-amusement is required to access this event.

On each playthrough, the player fills the RP gauge through playing songs regardless of result (three songs required if the player chooses GALAXY PLAY, nine for PREMIUM PLAY, twelve for NORMAL PLAY). When the gauge is filled (up to a maximum of two), you are given the option to consume the gauge to access a special folder. Note that the player is locked into the folder once accessed.

A list of planets are shown to the player, each representing a song. When a song is played under GALAXY STAGE, a special FLARE LIFE GAUGE (a non-recovery LIFE GAUGE with penalties for steps below Perfects) is forced starting at Level V (or Level IX in CHALLENGE), and relaxes by one level for every attempt until the song has been cleared. Once a chart is cleared in GALAXY PLAY, only that chart is unlocked for regular play, along with an emblem for the highest FLARE level cleared by the player; individual difficulties and play styles (Single or Double) have to be unlocked one at a time, and charts of the same difficulty of a required song must be unlocked and cleared in order to proceed. Once a player clears all six songs for the first time, they will unlock the option to choose any FLARE level from I to V in GALAXY STAGE on all locked and unlocked charts (except for the CHALLENGE charts, which start from level IX). Unlocking all the non-BEGINNER charts for all of the songs will reveal the CHALLENGE charts for the last three songs.

To access the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE, the player must have unlocked and cleared the CHALLENGE charts once (indicated in one of the three slots below). All modifiers (other than speed mods) from the last song played are carried over, and the player's Flare level is set to FLARE Level EX (which penalizes the player's LIFE GAUGE for Perfects as well). The player's speed mod will be set automatically based on the modified speed used for the previous stage. Additionally, a "dynamic sudden" is enabled, so that during slower scrolling sections the player will only see a certain distance ahead in the chart. Unlike past games with this feature, neither RISKY nor getting a PERFECT FULL COMBO is required to clear the stage. If ENCORE EXTRA STAGE has been accessed at least once, any FLARE Level can be played on any song in the game.

NONSTOP Courses

NONSTOP courses can only be accessed in 1st STAGE during Premium Play. Each course has four fixed songs; the difficulty level and the LIFE GAUGE option are not fixed, and can be changed on the song selection screen between the five difficulty levels (four on Double). If CHALLENGE is chosen, and a song in the course does not have CHALLENGE charts, the EXPERT charts will be used instead. Players can only choose modifiers before the first song of the course (changing the LIFE GAUGE option to RISKY or LIFE4 switches these courses to CHALLENGE MODE); SPEED can be adjusted at the start of every song.
